It is Time to Spread The Word. We are ready to plan our first official speaking tour to spread the word about this awesome new program. To that end we are releasing the opportunity to sign up for the application to a first wave of folks before our official crowdfunding campaign has ended. As a special thank you to those of you who are ready and eager to dive in, we will also feature you on our Dream Followers series on our website, facebook and instagram. Each week we will highlight the story and vision of select Dream Followers!

What’s the word on the Dreams Followed Program? Dreams Followed is a community accelerator that empowers emerging change-makers with financial and strategic support, mentorship and coaching while they develop and implement their positive and powerful community programs, solutions and visions 8 awarded participants will be selected from an in-depth application process. Each finalist will be awarded a 6 month group coaching experience to bring their visions into being now and a $1000 community award towards their dream/vision that has powerful, positive community impact. Examples of who could be a part of Dreams Followed include visionaries, future non-profit leaders, conscious entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs. An eligible applicant may include someone who has a vision for:

a sliding scale community herbal apothecary or healing center
a community organizer training program, wherein youth in under-resourced communities are paid stipends to learn how to create positive change in their neighborhoods
an arts based youth empowerment program
an inter-generational story sharing circle that brings folks together across lines of difference
other projects with powerful social, community or other positive impact

Again, the short-term is going full on with the Dreams Followed program. The long term is even more exciting. The ultimate vision is to create a philanthropic foundation that pays folks a living wage salary to pursue their dreams that have powerful, positive community impact. Exciting right? This will eventually include a 3-5 year fellowship program that provides group coaching, mentoring, transformational leadership development and seed funding.This Dreams Followed Program is the first tiny step towards making that long-term foundation vision a reality. In fact, it was created after I had the AHA that I don’t need a multi-million dollar endowment in place to take action now. So I designed the program to do this good work NOW.

We have been working long and hard and the application is ready! Once you’ve submitted your $33 application fee, we will send you an email with access to the application within 24 hours(Please read Application Fee Explained below to learn the important why behind it). We will also contact you to see if you would like to participate in our Dream Followers feature series!

The Application Fee Explained: The $33 Dreams Followed application fee is in place for 3 main reasons.
1. To create financial sustainability and revenue for the program– This is currently a grassroots effort. The money raised via our application fees will help to cover the costs of staff time for evaluation, program development and implementation.
2.-To create investment and buy-in from our participants– We believe that an application fee will ensure that those who are applying are invested in themselves and the success of the program. Our belief is that once you pay the fee you will have a greater commitment to completing the application as well as greater success with the implementation of your vision.
3. To be able to provide you with an excellent digital product that will assist you in fulfilling your own vision/project/business idea– Founder Megan North Shuford has designed and is creating the Vision Accelerator, a digital product that will support ALL applicants in creating clarity on their vision and greater capacity in bringing their vision to life. So, even if someone is not selected as one of the 8 awarded program participants, all applicants will still have a tool to support them in bringing their vision into being.

Tip it Forward: Some of you have expressed a desire to pay above and beyond the $33 application fee to support the larger Dreams Followed mission. To that end, we created the Tip it Forward option when checking out. All tip it forward payments will tip the remaining balance to the fundraising efforts of the Dreams Followed program!
